Family run, authentic burmese food in Vancouver. Not something I was expecting to find when I came here. Good variety of items on the menu too. No complains!
Excellent! Very flavorful food that’s different from other East Asian cuisine. Service was very friendly and fast. I had the fish noodle. The broth was better than any bouillabaisse I’ve ever had.
First time here and will be back to try other dishes. The food was beautifully spiced, presented and tasty. Friendly service. $-$$
Really authentic food, reminded of Singaporean streets. Very friendly service also :)
Been wanted to try this restaurant long time after reading good reviews of it. Had to say we were disappointed. Restaurant was comfortable and service was ok. One server running around but he was fast and sort of got it in controlled. We ordered two different curry dishes. They tasted similar. Food temperature was not too hot, quite salty. Honestly, we had much better curry elsewhere. Prices are reasonable. Now, at the end of our meal, we asked for the bill. When it came. It appears that someone added $1 to the GST. We would like to think that is the honest mistake. However, that didn't seem like a calculation mistake. We brought it up to the waiter, he didn't seem surprised however quickly corrected. We told him not a big deal because that would have been part of his tips anyways. No hurry to come back here.
Best Burmese restaurant in Vancouver.
Think ourselves as a foodie? Have you been here?Think that we know Asian food/ taste palette? Have you been here?Think we've tried all kind of noodle soups and know what a good broth means? Have you been here? One of the 3 local restaurants that I deeply wish it would survive through the pandemic. I checked on them frequently to make sure I'll support them. Amay's had closed for a long time, and I was worried. They just opened again recently and I'm so happy to see them back. 😍
Delicious food for an amazing steal of a price!
First time having this cuisine and I was blown away. Food is amazing here. Need to come back to try more! Definitely get the rotti
The fish soup noodle tastes very good just the same as the one I had back home. The lamb curry rice and roti are just okay, service was quite slow only 1 girl was serving the whole restaurant during weekend lunch hours. I rate 3.5 stars for my first experience but will still go back and try a few different dishes
Wonderful flavours you won't find anywhere else. We'll be back again to try a couple more dishes.
Delicious hidden gem! Tea leaf salad is a must. Lemongrass beef curry was also our favourite tonight.
Great little spot on Victoria Drive. If you're looking for a good place to try something different from another part of the world, this is it. Service was excellent, and the food kept coming at a good pace. Flavours and textures were on the spot. I would visit again.
I ordered the lemongrass beef curry! My goodness this was the best meal I've ever had! The meat was so soft and tender and full of flavor! 100% I will be back to eat here again! The service was also great! The ladies are super sweet! Thanks for a great visit!
Excellent food, affordable price and friendly customer service
Everything I ordered here for dinner tonight tasted like it was sliced/fried/cooked to perfection seconds before it arrived at my table. I have never been to Myanmar, but I imagine this must be exactly what food tastes like there. The laksa was not rich and overwhelming like other Asian cuisines, instead it hit all the right notes of salty/sour/spicy. It was awkwardly silent in the restaurant, so the only thing I would say was missing from the experience was some music to match the exotic food.
What a delightful find. My husband and I had never had Burmese food before...and it was delicious. A ginger salad to start followed up with chicken briyani. The flavours were rich and delicious. The portions were large. The price tag was very favourable. This place is a hidden gem. I would check it out if you like authentic spiced asian cuisine. You will be glad you did!! We will be back.
For me, it was such a beautiful hidden gem and a happy discovery in the neighbourhood. Very welcoming family style diner. My very first Burmese cuisine experience in this city. It becomes my go-to places when I crave for comforting food, ever since my first visit! Food always comes in such a comforting way. - Not only the portion (with which I always either end up so full or couldn’t finish the dish at all), but also the taste, the texture, the colour, the smell, and also the visual itself! It is probably not for me to comment on authenticity, but believe me, this is the type of place where you know after the first taste, that the chef is passionate about what they are doing and always putting so much effort into what they are creating!
Everything we had was a blast. Love the crunchy tea lead salad and basil eggplants. The chicken leg biryani is a must!
Great Burmese food! Rare to find in Vancouver so come here and get some Burmese food while you still can :). I would definitely come back. They have fantastic tea leaf salad, but also many other dishes as well. The food was very tasty and the staff were very friendly as well.
Friendly and quick service.Every dish ordered to date have been flavourful.Portions were large. Great for sharing.Seating comfortable.
A rare find for the adventurer seeking treasures global flavours, this Burmese food comes with high ratings for good reason. Guests are met with traditional Burmese decor at this family owned restaurant. The menu offers a mix of unique Burmese dishes along with their take on Thai and Vietnamese options made with different mixtures of herbs and spices to give a fresh experience to the palate. Definitely a place you will want to try if you are a fan of Asian cuisines and looking for subtle nuances to pique your tastebuds.
Tasty, reasonably priced.
Reasonably priced and underrated Burmese cuisine with good service. It's hard to find tea leaf salad in Vancouver if you're not from Myanmar, so I was happy to find it here. The samosa seasoning and sauce was delicious and different, beef rendang meat melts in your mouth, and the coconut milk soup is so hearty and rich. Definitely returning to this hidden gem!
This place is dope. Huge portions of delicious and, I'm assuming, very authentic Burmese food. I just had the Coconut Milk Noodle Soup (which also contains chicken and quail egg) and an order of Samosas. The sauce/chutney that comes with the samosas is delicious. And with the soup, don't sleep on the fish sauce, it takes the taste to another level. Ground chilies and lime also for garnishing the soup.I had the fish cakes last time. If you're expecting your down home Canadian fish cakes you'll find this is not what they serve. Wouldn't really recommend them but its not like they were bad, just different. Deep fried and somewhat chewier than I expected. Update: I had the Pickled Mango Salad recently and it was very tasty. Will order again when looking to have something light.
